How to..
How to practice singing bowl every day?
Method 1
Place the bowl in a calm environment and strike one in the morning as you arrange your day. Do this before you switch the phones and Television News; it will undoubtedly help start the day on a positive note. Even the taste of your morning coffee will be more admirable.
Method 2
When we find ourselves a bit over the edge and having a stressful day, nobody can help except ourselves, find a quiet spot in the place and play a singing bowl for a few minutes with concentrations on our deep breathing. This method will awaken your healing powers and re-energise your mind, body, and spirit. The calming effect of the bowl will make you happy in no time. You just need 5 minutes from your daily chores.
Method 3
If you are a therapist, yoga instructor, meditation practitioner, or musician, you can easily incorporate a singing bowl in your field.
Benefits
What are the benefits?
When you play a bowl, the resonances of calm and smoothing sonic vibration effectively penetrate our inner body and massage deeper level tissues. It also interacts with our brain waves to produce the theta waves, putting us in a meditative state.
Other benefits include balancing energy, stress reduction, improving concentration & memory, better sleep, harmonising and empowering positivism. As a result, they are popular among yoga practitioners.
It can help Chakra heal. Singing bowls have a distinct sound or musical note corresponding to our body’s energy points called Chakras. These energies flow by vibration in their frequencies. When the natural frequency distorts, our physical body and mental health are swayed, which cause an ailment. Each bowl had different musical notes representing seven chakras, including Root Chakra, Navel chakra, Stomach chakra, Heart Chakra, Throat Chakra, Third eye and Crown Chakra. Therefore, using a singing bowl will self-correct the Chakra distortion and eventually lead to a healthy mind and a healthy body.
What are the meanings of the carving?
These carvings are called itching, a traditional embossing technique using freehand drawings.
In this bowl is the Om Mani Padme Hum. It is a 6 syllable Sanskrit mantra associated with the Buddha of compassion, which means "The jewel is in the lotus" or "Praise to the jewel in the lotus". The sound of Om assists in eliminating arrogance and cultivating kindness. The second word, Mani, dissolved jealousy and the third word, Padme, means lotus and represents wisdom. Lastly, Hum dissolves aggression and hatred. Simply viewing the mantra is believed to invoke the same effect as reciting it, which is believed to remove the mud and dirt of the mind for a pure and wise inner self, similar to the lotus itself.
Is this a suitable bowl for me?
Follow your intuition. As one hears the sound, subconsciously, we are tuned or hooked to it. If this sound gives you a calm & soothing effect irrespective of the bowl's appearance, then you have found your bowl. It is sound which will choose you, not the other way round!
